Meet the family behind Lakeside
The lake our family kept coming back to.
We have owned Lakeside Cottages since 2019, but our story here began many years earlier.
We first came to the lake in 2006 for a summer vacation. We rented one cottage, spent our days on the water, and quickly realized there was something special about this place.
So we came back the next year. Then we came back again.
Before long, it became the trip everyone looked forward to all year. Our group continued to grow as more family members and friends joined us. One cottage became several cottages, and eventually we were renting all 10. The trips became longer, the group became bigger, and the lake became part of our family's story.
When the previous owner decided to sell the property, we could not imagine never coming back. We also did not want to see another special piece of Florida land disappear or become something completely different.
In 2019, we made the decision to purchase Lakeside Cottages.
Since then, we have updated every cottage and continued caring for the property. We have made improvements, but we have always tried to protect the feeling that made us fall in love with it in the first place.
The property has 10 cottages spread across five lakefront acres. Everyone has their own place to sleep, relax, and have some privacy, while still being close enough to spend meaningful time together.
Your group can gather on the covered dock, spend the day boating or kayaking, relax on the beach, play games beneath the oak trees, cook outside, or simply sit together by the water. There is room to spread out, but no one feels separated.
We believe the real magic comes from having the entire property to yourselves. Everyone is together, and there are very few reasons to leave.
Lakeside Cottages has become a place for family vacations, reunions, retreats, weddings, and celebrations. We love seeing other groups experience the same feeling of togetherness that first brought our family here.
Year after year
The tradition kept growing.
Different summers, different faces, and the same place bringing everyone back together.
And yes, we still return for our annual family vacation.
This year marks our 20th year coming back to the lake.
